One day trip to Martvili canyon and Prometheus cave from Batumi

Уou will visit two unusual natural places in Imereti on this route: a canyon with beautiful cascading waterfalls and a karst cave 60 million years old.

Batumi – Martvili: 150 km

The transfer from Batumi to Martvili will take about three hours. You will drive along a beautiful road overlooking mountains, meadows, and Adjarian villages. The driver will drop you off at the canyon Visitors’ Center.

You will walk along well-equipped stone paths, bridges, and observation decks overlooking very beautiful cascading waterfalls in the canyon's lower zone.

The upper part of the canyon can be seen only while riding a boat (you should buy an extra ticket). This is a very nice and easy route, from which you will take a lot of gorgeous photos.

Entrance fees:

17.25 lari – for foreign citizens over 18 years old
5.5 lari – for visitors from 6 to 18
Free – for children under 6 years old

15 lari – boat ride (about 30 minutes), available for children as tall as 100 cm. Boating may not be available in rainy weather when the water level rises.

Martvili – Prometheus Cave: 41 km

After Martvili, the driver will give you a lift to the Prometheus Cave Visitors’ Center. Here you can buy tickets for a group tour in Russian or English. You will have an hour-long walk through the cave, accompanied by a guide.

You will descend to a depth of about 20 meters and pass through the mysterious halls of the cave with many stalactites and stalagmites. At the end of the tour, you can take a boat ride on the underground river and see the inaccessible parts of the cave.

23 lari – for foreign citizens over 18 years old
5.5 lari – for visitors from 6 to 18 years old
Free – for children under 6 years old

17,6 lari – boat ride (15 minutes)

Prometheus Cave – Batumi: 156 km

After the tour around the cave, the driver will take you back to Batumi.
