Second Stop: Geghard Monastery (UNESCO) Distance from Garni to Geghard: 10.7 km After you've looked around Garni (you might want to stop for lunch at one of the nearby places), you'll continue on to the Geghard Monastery. There are areas of the temple complex that were hand-carved out of rock during construction in the fourth century. Geghard emanates an incredible atmosphere and potent energy that will leave you fascinated.
