Start a one-day trip and see some of Armenia's most famous sights, such as the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery, the "Stone Organ," and the old Garni Temple. This option is great for families with kids because it's short and gives you plenty of time to stop and see interesting places. First Stop: Garni Distance from Yerevan: 26 km The Garni Temple was the oldest building in Armenia. It was built in the 2nd century AD. The temple was constructed in the Greek style and was dedicated to the Sun God. Despite earthquake damage, it has now fully recovered. From the viewing deck of the temple, you can see the mountains and the river gorge in all their glory. >The Symphony of Stones One of the most amazing sights in the country can be seen by taking a walk along the Azat River from the Garni. The Symphony of Stones features 50-meter pillars with a hexagonal shape, creating the illusion of organ pipes. These are the frozen fragments of volcanic lava, which makes it hard to believe that such beauty formed naturally. Second Stop: Geghard Monastery (UNESCO) Distance from Garni to Geghard: 10.7 km After you've looked around Garni (you might want to stop for lunch at one of the nearby places), you'll continue on to the Geghard Monastery. There are areas of the temple complex that were hand-carved out of rock during construction in the fourth century. Geghard emanates an incredible atmosphere and potent energy that will leave you fascinated. Return to Yerevan Distance from Geghard to Yerevan: 37 km Your trip to Garni and Geghard ends in Yerevan, and the driver will make sure you get back to your home safely. Anushavan is an excellent driver and a very helpful person. We took his service for our trip from Dilijan to Yerevan via Sevanavank and Tsaghkadzor. We will certainly book him again!!!
Amitabh KakotyAraik was a great driver and host. He drove my partner and I from Dilijan to Yerevan. Along the way he took the time to explain many sights that we saw and took us to a delicious lunch spot that he recommended in Garni. He was very generous and gave us cocacola to drink during the trip. His car is very comfortable and spacious. It has lots of amenities like WiFi and a cooler for food and drinks. He is very enjoyable company and engaging to talk to. His English is limited but that is more than made up for by his enthusiasm and his expert use of Google Translate. We were able to have proper conversations with him during the whole journey. 11/10. I would recommend Araik to everyone looking to book a driver in the region
