The Symphony of Stones features 50-meter pillars with a hexagonal shape, creating the illusion of organ pipes. These are the frozen fragments of volcanic lava, which makes it hard to believe that such beauty formed naturally. Second Stop: Geghard Monastery (UNESCO) Distance from Garni to Geghard: 10.7 km After you've looked around Garni (you might want to stop for lunch at one of the nearby places), you'll continue on to the Geghard Monastery. There are areas of the temple complex that were hand-carved out of rock during construction in the fourth century. Geghard emanates an incredible atmosphere and potent energy that will leave you fascinated.
